Yes I know we’re halfway through Summer so this post may seem a bit late to the game buuuuuuuutttt better late than never. Most Summer book lists come out around Memorial Day weekend but for me, between moving over that long weekend and being in and out town most June, I’m finally getting to my book list especially now that its too hot to live outside in San Antonio. Most sites list popular fiction, easy reading, juicy plot lines involving girlfriends, but my list this year is a bit different. I hope to knock these out by Labor Day and my hopes is that by blogging my goal, it will help keep me accountable. We shall see… so drum roll please…

I heard Dr. Steven Gundry speak at the GOOP Health Summit in June and again on a podcast I listen to about plant based eating. His success with a wheat and lectin free diet intrigues me and I love that he is one of the leading cardiologist in the nation. Western and Alternative medicine can live in harmony! I’ve been reading a lot about the health benefits of a plant based diet for several of my own health issues and what’s really “healthy.” Granted everyone has their own opinion, but the more you know…
I pick up this book often when I’m thirsty for knowledge. A good friend of mine called and said “you have to read this book, its basically about you!” A great insight into why right brain people are crucial to society.
I heard Esther Perel speak on a panel about relationships and sex and LOVED her. She is a total bad ass and doesn’t beat around the bush. She is a marriage/sex counselor and several women after the panel told me they’ve given this book as gifts to girlfriends, married or unmarried. I love a good insight and topics that call for honest conversation so I’m looking forward to reading this one. Let’s talk about sex baby…
I read Jen Sincero’s first book You Are a Badass and I highly enjoyed it. It’s a self help book with wit and guidance, and reads like a happy hour advice session with your BFF. Her follow up, You Are a Badass at Making Money, has gotten amazing reviews. Let’s be honest, you can never have enough prosperity advice. Especially when you own your own business like I do. Money doesn’t grow on trees sadly.
A memoir about a woman’s struggle with miscarriage, life, motherhood and more. It’s been on a LOT of reading lists…Not a usual pick for me, but the reviews have me intrigued.
A series of essays on life as a young woman from India. Supposedly a laugh out loud, easy read. Again wouldn’t be my first pick, but one of those highly recommended…
Because I L-O-V-E a good serial killer, thriller!

Got a library to conquer so don’t call or text me until Labor Day 🙂 #easilydistracted  Or do!
